Things have been hectic. I mean, I got back to Utah just fine, and I'm unpacked and all, but I don't feel like anything has really changed. I still feel like I'm rushing everywhere. Of course, this might be due to the fact that things have been insane the past couple of days and that just does bad things to my brain.

I do have a sort of plan though, so everything should be good. I'll update more when my brain isn't half a pumpkin.

And I have not blogged for at least two weeks. Shame on me. *snerk*

I've been in NH for the past two weeks or so, and I'm really enjoying spending time with my family and friends. It's going by too quickly though; I leave for Utah on Friday morning. Of course, I don't think any amount of time would really be enough time at this point.

Went to lunch with my youngest brother yesterday, and that was fun. First time in nine years that I've actually eaten in the elementary school cafeteria during school hours, though. I also got to help in my little sister's class. She's in first grade, and they were learning about magnets. Well, that's what I was teaching them about. Don't know how well I did, but they were having fun.

Going shopping with my mom today, and running a few other errandy things. Which means I'll have to blog more later. *looks at layout* Hmmm...I love this layout, but at the same time, I'm wanting a change. Blargh and thingy.

Well, finals are finally over now, and I can relax a bit. Except I can't really because I have a cleaning check tomorrow at 1:00 in the afternoon and I have no clue how we're going to get everything done before the manager gets here. Blarg and thingy. It'll work out somehow.

I'm flying home for a two week vacation on Friday, and this is proof that prayers are answered. I prayed for a job that would let me go home at the end of the semester for a bit, and I got it. So I will get to see all the NH people I wouldn't have seen otherwise, but I won't have to worry about finding someone to take my contract, or moving all my stuff, or trying to find a job in NH.

Let's see...what else has been happening? I reread The Seer and the Sword, and I still have to say it's one of the best books I've ever read, which is really something, coming from me. I also started and finished reading Dragon's Bait by Vivian Vande Velde last night, and it was very good. A bit odd in some places, but I really would like to see more with the characters. Oh, and Selendrile is sexy. He's a brat, but he's sexy.

I'm currently reading The Three of Swords by Fritz Leiber, and it's pretty fun. Really old-school fantasy, with all the typical cliches of the genre. And friggin long sentences. (^.^)

Yume-san introduced me to the music of Era and Evanescence and I've fallen in love with said music. Of course, it puts yet more things on my list of stuff I need to get ahold of eventually, but that's okay.

Current anime being watched is as follows: GetBackers, D.N. Angel, Puchi Puri Yuushi, Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Goo DELUXE, and Weiss Kreuz Gluhen. All very good series, and I want more of all of them. Will be starting Wolf's Rain in the semi-near future, and picking up some older stuff as well. When I have the time.

Yes, time is the issue here. I have to burn CDs, work, clean, and pack. More or less all at the same time. If I don't die, I should be fine. (^.^);;

Well, I managed to survive my first two "days" of work without any major mishap. I do kinda wish that the girl who was showing me around today had just left me to my own devices. I would have been less likely to lose my place if she had. After all, I did work with someone on Sunday, and I'm not stupid....

Still, I think this job will work out, and it's going to give me the chance to go home for a couple of weeks at the end of winter semester. All things considered, this job really is a blessing from God. I'd been praying that I'd find a job that would allow me to work through the summer while still letting me go home for a couple weeks to visit family, and then I get this job. It may not be the most glamorous job, or the nicest on my feet and back, but it pays well and I don't really mind the work all that much. Just keep me off the 12th floor, because apparently that's the floor where they have all the experimental rats. *shudders*

I'm hoping the rest of my week doesn't go quite the way today (Monday) went. It was just, well...bad. Three hours of sleep plus getting up early for Japanese plus not much food plus Biology project makes Anki very stressed and tired. Oh, can't forget the orthodontist appointment...that wasn't bad though, come to think of it. Very routine, very short. That's the way I like them.

The weather here is having a real difficult time making up its mind. One day it's all nice and warm and sunny, and the next day it's snowing! I tell you, it's wacky and I really wish it would settle. I prefer warm, of course, but I can deal with cooler. It's just rather annoying. I can never tell how I should dress for the day.

I can register for fall classes in two days. On the 10th. I hope that the classes I want are still available when I get to that point, because if they aren't I will be sad. And I think on that note I should end.

I AM EMPLOYED!!!!!

Eh heh heh, sorry for the caps, but this is a very happy thing. I've been trying to get a job all semester, and now I finally have one! Admittedly it's Night Custodial, but the people seem fun and I don't particularly mind cleaning....just the first custodial job I had was murder. This one should be much better as it doesn't involve cleaning showers daily and cleaning two floors within two and a half hours....

So I start working on Sunday night at 9:00. Work week is Sunday through Thursday, so I have Fridays and Saturdays off, which is a definite plus. Unfortunately I'll miss Whose Line and the Daily Show, but while these shows are amusing, money is more important.

Monday should be...interesting, if only because my schedule is going to be very whack. See, I'll be working Sunday night, and then I have to get up for the early class for Japanese because I have an orthodontist appointment at the time I would normally have class and we have a quiz on Monday. After Japanese I go to Biology, then to English, then I have a poster presentation for Biology (yippy yay hurrah). That's the annoying part, because I have to wake up earlier than usual and go to a succession of classes and things for classes so I don't die. At least, I think I have Biology...not sure on that point. Thingy. Oh well, I'll survive the whole thing somehow and then it'll be done and finished and I won't have to worry about it anymore.

One of the best things about this job is that it pays well (7.45 an hour) and it doesn't interfere with my school schedule. All happy things. (^_^) Money is also a very happy thing, as it means I will have a way to start paying my parents back, paying my rent, and buying food. Plus, I'll be able to save up for AX. *innocent whistle*

I really despise Netscape. Now, it's a good program, and it has its uses. This I will admit. However, it also hates most of the webdesign that I do. As in, hates with a passion. 99% of the sites I've created, when viewed in Netscape, look, well, wacky. For example, take my blog here. When viewed in IE everything lines up nice and neat and looks very pretty. When you look at this page using Netscape (at least the version I have on my computer), you get the background, the entry column, and no scrollbar. You don't get to see the layout image, and you can't scroll down in the window. Now, maybe they've fixed that for later versions of netscape, but it's freaking annoying to me with the version I have.

The main issue with Netscape is that it's much more picky about what HTML it will and won't accept than IE. So if you forget to close a tag in Netscape you run the risk of messing up a lot more than if you forget the same tag closure in IE. Personally, I like IE much better, but I want my sites to be accessable to as many people as possible. Which means I have to figure out how to deal with Netscape's many quirks so that my sites don't look hideous when viewed using it, and so that they are navigable. *sigh* This is going to take some work.

I really need to learn to update more often than I do. Anyway....

Life is going. Don't know exactly how to phrase it other than that. Things aren't horrible, but they could be better. For example, I could have a job. Still haven't found one yet, and it's becoming highly aggrivating. I know I'll get one eventually, but I'd really like to be able to say that I don't have to depend on my parents for everything I do in this world. Having my own income and being able to support myself (to a greater extent, at any rate) is a very good thing. Income also means that I'll be able to save up for things like paying my parents back, classes in the fall, and Anime Expo.

On the up side, I got manga today! This is a very happy and good thing. I like manga, and, well, yeah. (^_^) Thing is, my roommates' mom (she picked it up) has a tendency to get everything on a list. So I got more than I expected. And I have to pay my roommates in multitudious baked goods to get the three extra volumes. Not that I really mind cooking, so it all works out in the end, I think.

Well, time to pick up things in my room so I can actually sleep tonight and don't get stuff dumped on my feet. Oyasumi!

What is it about teachers? They want you to be consise and to the point when you write your papers. That's great, because it means you don't have to resort to flowery language and loads of BS (usually) to get your point across. Except they also expect you to be able to turn out four to six pages of well thought out, relevant, clear, consise writing. This is highly annoying to me because I've never been able to do that. I might have managed it once. So I get penalized because I do one thing that they ask for, but can't manage the other. Is that really fair?

This random rant/thought brought to you by my world religions paper.

There is a distinct lack of good Kodomo no Omocha winamp skins available on the net. I've found...one, maybe two that I really like. So I've decided to make some. At the moment I have one that's a third of the way done. I've got the top part finished, which is the only part that's going to have a picture, but being the way I am I feel the need to have an equalizer and a playlist designed to match it. I'll probably just alter the colors on the winamp defaults for those and call it good, but they will match.

*stares at skin for a little while* Ooo, this is so pretty.... (-.-); And I can tell that I'm very very tired. I think I'll go to bed, write my religion paper tomorrow morning, and call it good. Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. Oyasumi-nasai, minna-san.

Okay, I'm officially dead. I finally finished the one biology paper/journal/thing and I need to go to bed or I'll die tomorrow. Eh, I'll probably die anyway, at least temporarily. Nngh....religion test....must rest....

*sighs* We had to give Jeep away, and I'm very sad about it. I mean, he wasn't doing anything to the apartment, he was a relaxing influence, and he was cute! Luckily my roommates' cousin was able to take him, so he isn't too far away. It still isn't the same as having to make sure he isn't sitting at the door ready to get out/greet you when you come home....

Okay, I'm going to stop being gloomy right now because it's a real pain in the butt if I am. School is all blah and stuff, and I really wish I didn't have to take biology, but it's a GE and I am taking it so I have to do my best in it. Which hasn't been happening as much as I would like, but oh well.

Saiyuki is a really good series, and I want to read more!!! Ahem, sorry for that small outburst, I just finished reading volume 6 of the manga and have no way to get more until tomorrow sometime at the very earliest. I guess there's nothing to be done really except wait semi-patiently.

Watch me procrastinate my Biology homework. Go me.

Well, I fixed the URL for this picture (I hope) so people can actually view it. Although I don't know how many people actually read my blog....

In other news, I made poppy seed bread today! It was (is) very yummy, even if it means I can't take a drug test for a few days *grin*

Yeah, this is a relatively short entry, but I'll have more to say later I'm sure. The biggest thing is, I'm updating semi-regularly!

Sunday, March 9, 2003

Well, today has been a very nice day, and that makes me happy. The weather was amazing (all my friends in other parts of the country, please don't kill or hate me) at around 70 degrees, sunny, and breezy.

The posse started playing Kingdom Hearts today, and dude is it a sweet game! What else can you expect when you have a combination of Disney and Squaresoft? As a result (sort of) this picture came into being. It's more funny if you know who does the voice of Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts, but the concept is amusing regardless. ^_^

And there's just something about getting a new CD that makes life all good and happy. My copy of the GetBackers soundtrack came today, and it has me muchly pleased. The series has good music, bishies, and story. In other words, it's great. I've decided that I need to share the wonder that is GetBackers with people, but that could be an issue if I don't have copies of the episodes available for people to see.

Jeep is currently exploring our room, and it's very cute watching him, but also distracting. Room isn't exactly all that kitty-friendly at the moment. It isn't horribly not kitty-friendly, but it could be a lot better than it is.

Ah well, it's getting late and I have a program to create before I go to bed.

Well, I've managed to get up, and I'm glad I'm a bit more awake than I was last night. Fixed a typo in my previous entry (probably the only person I know who would actually go to the trouble of fixing a typo in an entry, but hey), and am working on my biology paper. Again. Still. It's going to be very late, and I'm not going to get the best grade on it, but I don't freaking care anymore. As long as I get something that isn't a zero I'll be happy.

I want to show my new layout to people, but nobody who would appreciate it is online right now! *sad*

A new layout! Yay!

Okay, I'm being far more excited about this than I should be, but I'm really pleased with how this layout turned out, and it's freaking 4:15 in the morning for crying out loud. I've completely screwed up my sleep schedule, and this layout proves that I'd rather do anything than my biology paper. Which is already extremely late. Blah, I'll work on it tomorrow and turn it in then. Or something.

Anyway, just wanted to let everybody know that I'm not dead, just have been insanely busy with life and school and stuff. Kodomo no Omocha makes me happy. That is all, I'm going to bed now. Oyasumi!
