Well, it has been a very eventful couple of days. We have a cat at our apartment now, name of Jeep. He's absolutely adorable! The only thing is, I don't know how long we'll be able to keep him. (As I write this he's sprawled on my lap, taking a kitty nap.)

One of my roommates found Jeep on Sunday afternoon, curled up in a tight little ball in the corner by the door of our building. He was shivering and breathing heavily. Bear in mind that Sunday was the coldest day we've had all year, possibly all winter. So we find Jeep curled up in this little ball and we can't leave him out in the cold! So we bring him into our apartment, where he proceeds to make himself quite comfortable. We gave him some milk and some canned chicken (which he's developed quite a fondness for; we'll have to break him of that if we're going to keep him). A while later we clipped his nails and gave him a bath. He wasn't all that thrilled about this, but he got over being offended very quickly.

So today (Yes, I know it's technically Tuesday, but I'm treating it as Monday) we took him to the vet because he is a stray and we could tell he was kinda sick. We found out that he's about five months old and very healthy apart from a slight cold and case of pink eye. We also had him tested for kitty leukemia and feline AIDS. Both tests were negative, which makes us happy. We got some medicine for him and some dry cat food. (After this vet appointment we're really hoping that we doing have to give him away because it was a rather pricey appointment).

The manager says the reason we can't keep a cat is because he'll pee on the carpet. All four of us in the apartment think this is an incredibly stupid reason because Jeep box-trained himself within the first half hour of being in our care. On Sunday we filled a cardboard box with torn newspaper and he used that as a litter box, happy as you please. Then today we got some actual kitty litter and a litter box. We got rid of the cardboard box. Jeep didn't seem to notice one way or the other, until he needed to go to the bathroom. He looked for the cardboard box and couldn't find it, so he started crying very loudly at me. It didn't take me all that long to figure out what he probably wanted, so I picked him up and put him in the litter box (which was in a different place than the old cardboard box). He did his business, happy as you please, and then went on his merry way. Now tell me, is that the sign of a cat that's going to pee on the floor? I don't think so!

...Yeah, so I'm defensive. He's a cute kitty! I've never had a pet of my own before.

In other news, I still don't have a job, which is going to be an issue if that state doesn't change soon. I might have to stoop to doing phone interviews. *shudders at the thought*

Well, it's been a while since I did anything here, so I figured I should give a little life update thingy. Yeah. So I'm still looking for a job, but I've got a few prospects, so I'm hopeful that I'll be able to get something to work out. Classes are going well, although I really don't like biology. Thing is, it's a GE so I have to take it, or I have to take two classes to replace the basic biology class. No thanks.

I'm working on teaching myself JavaScript in an attempt to make myself more marketable. So far it hasn't been going very well, but that's due almost entirely to the fact that I haven't been spending all that much time on my efforts.

Given the release dates of various DVDs, life is going to be very interesting from March to June. The third Fruits Basket DVD comes out in March. Saiyuki vol. 1, Castle in the Sky, and Kiki's Delivery Service all come out in April. The fourth and final Fruits Basket DVD comes out in May, and the second Saiyuki DVD comes out in June. Harry Potter volume 5 also comes out in June. Can you see why this is going to cause me some issues?

Yesterday I got this desire/urge to reread all of Elfquest and actually get to some of the stuff that came out after I stopped collecting the comics. Thing is, I have no clue where I'm going to get to most of Elfquest. Suggestions, anyone?

And as a random note, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is a great movie. I'm sad that I didn't see it before now. ^___^

Well, I'm back at school and classes have started once more. I get a really short Christmas break, but it's made up in the fact that I get out of school in, well, April. ^_^ Everything evens out, as you can see.

It's looking like I'm going to have a really good semester. My classes are all really fun so far (with the possible exception of Biology 100, but that's understandable), and my teachers are great. All that really needs doing at this point is me getting a job so I can actually pay the rent and internet bill and buy food. Food is important because I don't want to die.

I'm sorry that you were kept up all night by your brother, imouto-chan. I would say that I know what that's like, but I'd be lying, mainly because I tend to stay asleep once I finally fall asleep, I can ignore my siblings if I so choose, and we don't get sick very often. Still, I know that when it does happen it sucks, so I can sympathize with you. I hope you get more sleep tonight and I hope your brother gets better soon he won't be keeping you up all night.

Don't know how things are going to work out schedule-wise for my life at this point, but it will hopefully be less stressful than last semester. Still, I enjoyed last semester and I did fairly well, though not as well as my roommates. I'm getting there though!

Merry Christmas to everybody! It's been snowing here, and while I like the snow a lot, I can see how it could be an issue for some people, especially if they have to work tomorrow. I hope everything works out.

It's good to be home, let me tell you. Now I just wish that I had more time to be with family and friends. As it stands, I've got ten days in which to do everything, and I'm torn. I want to spend time with family, but I also want to visit with my friends.

Well, it'll work out somehow. I just need to get in contact with some people. Still, that can wait until tomorrow, because I'm thinking it's bedtime for Anki. I don't want to sleep in until who knows when tomorrow.

*dead* Okay, today (technically yesterday, but I'm still up so I'm calling it today) wasn't very good and I want to rewind my life and do it over again. Cleaning checks and not eating and messes make me unhappy. Especially that combination. Add to that my Japanese final, which is is a take-home test (this is a good thing) but which is also really hard (this is a bad thing) and my day has just been one big ickful thing. Although I did get to spend time with friends and watch them play Mario 3, so the day wasn't a total loss....

And I'm annoyed at everybody who's already seen The Two Towers because they keep talking about it and I don't want spoilers and I haven't seen it and I have no clue when I will see it because I have no time and no money and no life. *takes a deep breath* Okay, I'm done whining now. At least about that particular point.

I should go to bed so I can wake up early tomorrow so I can finish my Japanese final so I can turn it in on time and then pack and clean and relax. Not necessarily in that order for the last three items.

Ugh. Finals at 7:00 in the morning should be banned. While it was nice to be able to turn on my Christmas tree and stare at the lights while I finished getting ready to leave (Christmas lights in nearly-dark conditions are very pretty) I didn't like the fact that I was doing this before 7 AM. Still, I think I did decently on my final, and I only have one more left, and it was a take-home deal that has to be finished by Friday at 2 PM. I think I should be able to manage that.

Imouto-chan, going through most of elementary and junior high school without any troubles whatsoever is a perfectly normal thing. Not learning how to study is a perfectly normal thing. Just be grateful that you're learning that lesson before you get to college. *rolls eyes* I'm still learning.

I'm looking forward to going home for Christmas. It'll be nice to spend time with my family, relax, and see my at-home friends. Sadly, I won't be home for very long, but it should be long enough to do some of the stuff I want to do.

New layout today! Heh, since I accidentally archived my last set of entries (with incorrect tag text, no less), I decided it would be a good time to change the layout to my blog. However, since it's taken me a bit to actually get the layout finished, I haven't been posting. But I'm back, still alive, and I survived the last killer week of class. Now there's just finals before me, and they shouldn't be too difficult.

I'm sad because I don't have a job anymore! Well, at least not until I get myself another one, which hopefully won't take too long. It's just kinda sad because the one job I really, really liked going to was the one that was definitely only for a semester. Still, I should be able to get something out of it, right? References if nothing else.

Random plug: If you have the chance, go to P.F. Chang's. It's a really excellent Chinese Bistro. Splurged a bit today after textbook buybacks (I somehow managed to get myself a fairly good haul, which surprised me to no end) and went to P.F. Chang's with a friend. The service there is great, the food is heavenly, and the prices were decent for the amount of food we got. The place has atmosphere, and it's nice and sit down. Oh, and be sure to get their lettuce wraps if you go there. One of the best things I've ever had.

*looks over at bed* I really should clean up under my bed. The paper mess is getting to be rather severe, and it's starting to bother me a bit. Not horribly, but starting to.

And now I should go to bed because I have to wake up in six hours to be ready for church in the morning. I really need to learn to not stay up quite so late.
