Okay, I have absolutely no life, or I have way too much free time on my hands. Since I don't have all that much free time to use, I'm just sort of assuming that I have no life. Well, no real life. I spend plenty of time online. It's kinda scary, in a way. I think I should probably cut back on my internet usage...maybe actually do something intelligent like sleep for once in a while.

Anyway, I just spent the last half hour or so typing up an answer to a thread on a message board. My reason for doing this? The people were being stupid. Well, I felt they were being stupid. So I followed my standard mode of operations and corrected them. I've decided that my besetting sin is probably my need to correct people when I know they're wrong or mistaken. It's bad, but I have a lot of fun doing it. Shame on me.

::looks at the layout:: I really need to do something about this. I'm not liking it. Of course, I need to do things about the layouts on my webpages too, specifically my main collective. It's currently down, and that is bad. I don't know how many people have run across my "I'm updating the layout" message, but it has to be getting annoying. I'll try to fix the problem, in between taking tests and going to class and going to work and going to the orthodontist. Ugh.

It's late, and I'm starting to babble. It's very late. I just felt the need to state that I have no life. Now, I'm going to bed. I'm going to do something about layouts and stuff tomorrow, if I remember.

So, apparently I'm a bipolar Care Bear, or something like that. I took the What Care Bear Are You quiz, and I got two results at the same time, which means that there was a tie somewhere in the works. The thing is, my results were Grumpy Bear and Cheer Bear. The really scary thing is, they both fit....

In other news, my school is on crack, or something. They gave us Monday off for Martin Luther King Jr. day, but to "make up" for that, they turned Thursday into Monday. And Monday into Thursday, or something like that. It's just really weird, and it means that I have to work three days in a row, which is not making me very happy in the slightest.

I'm thinking I need a new layout, but I'm not sure what I'd use for it. Maybe I'm just looking for a change, I don't know. Not that anybody reads this blog but me (at least, I don't think people do). If people do read my blog, it'd be nice to know about....

Well, another year has come and gone, and I don't know that I remember much of it. It wasn't a particularly bad year, but I don't know that it was a stellar one either. So here I'll give you all the year in review, as if anybody looks at this blog besides me.

January: Started my second semester of college, worked on revamping my webpage, decided I had to move everything from NBCi because they just sucked. Changed jobs from cleaning bathrooms to making sandwichs at Subway.

February: Yay me, it's my birthday. Turned 19, goofed off, thought about the future, and probably got a bit depressed doing so. Nothing so strange.

March: I honestly can't remember a thing that happened this month. It was my brother's birthday, and my dad's birthday, but.... I did school stuff. That's a nice, vague answer.

April: Finals. Not fun. Came home from college, started working on getting a job for the summer. My parents switched my room on me, so my sister and I share the smallest of the bedrooms....

May: Went back to Utah a couple weeks after getting home for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary and a family reunion. Went to a needlework convention with my mom. Got a job over the summer working at my dad's company. Found out I was on academic warning because my grades were horrid.

June: Mikkakan! My first anime convention ever. I had a fun time. Other things of note, I started practicing my driving again.

July: Uhhh....family stuff, working, and practicing driving still. Learning how to drive a manual transmission. Learning to hate it, then to love it.

August: Finally got my driver's license, much to my parents' joy. They had to push me every step of the way. Still working, and getting ready for school again.

September: School starts, I start working at Subway again. Things get busy and hectic, no time for anything, really.

October: Halloween. Dressed up as Kudo Yohji from Weiß Kreuz, and three of my friends dressed up as the other members of Weiß. We had a lot of fun, even if I did have to work on Halloween.

November: Thanksgiving time, spent with relatives from both sides of my family. Rather hectic. Still working at Subway, still busy with classes. Watching copious amounts of anime, though.

December: Bought myself a small Christmas tree and set it up in my dorm room. Studied for finals and worked on packing for my miserably short Christmas vacation. Got home, spent time with family and friends.

Well, that's about it for the year. Not a bad year, but not a particularly good one. Now, for fun stuff I've done recently...I saw Lord of the Rings today! ::bliss:: It made me very happy, to say the least. Very good movie, and it made me want to read the books again. Please excuse me while I melt into a happy little puddle on the floor.

Now I have to get to bed, because my mother is going to wake me up at 6:45 tomorrow morning so I can say goodbye to all my siblings.

Yeah, so it's official. Finals are just rotten, and reading English literature sucks. I say this, and I'm an English major. Go me. Well, hopefully this will all be done before too long, and I won't go crazy and kill something. Eh, I wouldn't do that anyway, but that's just me.

I got a new CD a few days ago, and even though it was probably not a good idea to buy it, I'm really enjoying it. For some reason, the music is strangly similar to the background music in so many video and computer games. I'm fine with that, actually.

Sugoi yo!! Masaru-san, is a very very odd anime. I mean VERY odd. Lots of fun though....I mean, when something has lines like "Sugoi yo! Aho da kedo, sugoi!" (Incredible! An idiot, but incredible!) you can't help but like it. Well, I don't think you can, even though my roommate's weirded out by it. She's just strange.

Packing is evil. I have to do that, and clean my room, and still study for finals. The people who designed this system should be kicked in the head. Oh well....nothing I can do about it, I guess. I just have to figure out a way to get everything done by Thursday.

Monday, December 3, 2001 02:38 p.m.

I love the Christmas season. There's just something about putting up a Christmas tree and decorating the room/house that makes me feel really good. Giving presents is nice too, even though I am poor as dirt. It just means that I have a chance to be creative, ne?

On another note, why are my finals so late? I mean, I don't get back home until the 21st of December! Then I have to fly back to school on the 2nd of January! That's hardly any break at all.... Well, I suppose it's understandable since the Olympics are being held in Salt Lake City this year and a whole bunch of people here are going to want to help out at the Olympics...the school board people decided that it was better to just give all the students the last week of February off.

Orange juice and keyboards just do not mix. I discovered this last night. I am now using a new keyboard, and my old one is in pieces around my room.

On a different note, Fruits Basket is a really, really cool anime. I've seen the first five episodes, and I'm now obsessed. That's really all I have to say about that. ^_^ Now, pardon me while I go drool over Kyou-kun some more.

Well, I discovered what the inside of a monitor looked like today. My roommate's monitor died on her last night (no hope of resurrection either), so she decided to dismantle it rather than just throwing it away. Needless to say, it was interesting.

I'm almost done with midterms, so hopefully my life will settle down to a more or less normal schedule by the end of the month. Of course, I know I'm just wishing because there's no way on the face of this good green earth that anything will stay normal around me for long. Still, it's a nice dream.

Speaking of dreams, I dream that one day I'll be able to actually get around to updating my webpages again. I'm working on redoing the layouts for my main page and my Escaflowne shrine, but it's going very slowly because of all the crazy stuff that's been happening this past month or so. I also need to finish doing the coding for the posse webpage (Naive Expression of Fandom) and I need to finish the layout for Quill and Candle. It's supposed to be an autumn layout, but at the rate I'm going it'll be done by around Christmas time.

Christmas...I'm looking forward to it this year. For a while there I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make it back home for Christmas, but everything's been worked out and I have my plane tickets purchased. They were expensive though.... Ah well, I'll get to see my family and friends again, and I might even be able to drive again! Yay!

Well, it's late so I'll be signing off now. Later all.

Friday, October 19, 2001 2:07 p.m.

Well, I got myself a weblog. I'm still not entirely sure how this works yet, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. I'm not going to use this to replace my current "updates" setup, though. I'm going to use it to make rants and such. Things that are a bit more real-time related and not so much related to my webpage itself.

Yeah...October is the month of midterms. Midterms and Homecoming. You'd think that they would have enough brains to not schedule these two stress-inducing things in the same month, but no. I'm surviving, but I'll be very glad when the whole mess is over and I only have to deal with the stress of juggling school, work, and social life again.

Let's see...I can't really think of anything else to say right now, so I'll sign off and see if it worked. Later all.
