Well, it's slightly depressing to me that it doesn't seem to matter what format I keep my journal-type entry stuff in...I hardly ever write in it. But I suppose that's beside the point.

I've got a job, and I've been busy with that and with school work. Yes, I'm taking an independant study class over the summer so I won't have to take the same class again in the fall (or winter or whenever). I think I've learned my lesson this time (I hope).

Anyway, my family is going to Bar Harbor in Maine for nine days. Nine blissful days where I don't have to worry about my job or about all sorts of other things. All I'll have to worry about are bugs and whether or not water will get in the tent (again, I can only hope). We'll also be seeing Star Wars: Episode II while we're up there, which is a happy thing for me.

::ponders layout:: Hmm...I like this layout, but it might be time for a change. I don't know who I'd do for my next layout though, so maybe I won't change it just yet. ::sighs:: I'll figure it out somehow.

The weather here got really warm and muggy all of a sudden. I'm hoping that it will be cooler in Maine on the coast, but I don't know how promising that will be. Only time can tell. Right now, all I'm really hoping for is that it's warm enough so a freezing cold shower won't feel half bad. Our water heater busted this morning, and so we have no hot water whatsoever in our house. Kinda glad it didn't bust while we were gone though, or things would have been ruined. As it is, the water heater's turned off so it isn't constantly pumping out fifty gallons of water onto the floor.

Wish me luck on the student loan front....I have to get one, and I'm worried because for some reason the government believes my parents can contribute almost ,000 to my college education. My response to them is "Hello, real world here! Parents don't have that kind of money!" but I doubt that the government is going to listen to me. Maybe if I was an independant student.....

Well, here I am, up late as usual. ::wry grin:: I suppose I'll learn someday. Anyway...

I finally learned how to do frames! My first attempt is at my Escaflowne fansite, Angel Dreams. Now I'm just trying to decide if it would be worth it for me to create/keep a non-frames version of the page for those who don't like frames. I'd be interested to know the input of various people.

And while I'm asking questions of the general population....why do people online keep assuming I'm a guy? I think that there are people who think this at every single message board/forum I post on! Of course, I should also probably point out that I find this incredibly amusing for some reason. ^_^

Well, I'm retaking the Humanities class I failed last semester. Independant Study is a wonderful invention, and it's saving me money in the long run (I hope). Have to get the class done by the end of the summer.

I should probably go to bed, just because I have a lot I need to do tomorrow and only the standard 24 hours in which to accomplish things.

So I should have been in bed two hours ago, or I should have been working on filling out applications for jobs because I need to. What did I do instead? I finished making a new layout for my friend Cyprine for her blog, and it looks spiffy. Well, I think it looks spiffy...what she thinks remains to be seen as I write this entry. I'm feeling kinda tired, but I'm going to stay up at least until she gets home so I know what she things of her new layout. ^_^;;

I got a really cool book....yesterday? I think it was. Anyway, the book is entitled Giants, Monsters, & Dragons and it is simply full of all sorts of interesting information about various different legendary creatures. It even has Tolkien creatures in it, which is spiffy in and of itself. That and the fact that it isn't just Western myth and legend the author drew from to create the encyclopedia--she has stuff from all over the world.

I finally got to watch the last two episodes of Shamanic Princess again, making it the second time I'd seen them. Graham is still my favorite character. He's got angst and a cool outfit and cool powers and yeah.

Today I got to help my youngest younger brother with his math homework. He has a test tomorrow, and I hope he does well on it. We studied enough (I hope). He's in fifth grade and they're studying negative numbers, which he couldn't seem to get a handle on. But I know he understands them becuase he was able to do the practice problems I set up for him. ::shrugs:: At any rate, I hope he does a good job on the test tomorrow because it would be a real boost for him.

I'm hoping that after I get a job I'll still be able to have some semblance of a life. The thing is, I don't know how feasible that will be, given the fact that I've got to be available to work (according to my dad) six days out of the week, the only day exempt being Sunday, which is reserved for church-type activities. As it stands I'm crossing my fingers that wherever I do get employed it won't be a horrible job and that I will have some free time beyond what I'm expecting in the evenings.

Wow...I'm rambling tonight. I must be more tired than I thought, because usually I don't ramble quite this much. Well, rambling has its uses, I suppose...my fingers aren't freezing anymore. Whenever I'm using the computer for any real length of time my fingers start to get cold and stiff if I'm doing anything other than just typing away, which is what I'm doing now.

I really need to get cracking on other web-page type stuff, mainly because I don't want to get killed when I go back to school in the fall. Updating is a good thing, and I'm hoping that I'll get enough computer time to do something about the lack of updates.

I also need to work on my stories, and transcribing a whole bunch of writing-type stuff my roommate and I were doing all last school year. Lots and lots of stuff that needs to be cleaned up and edited there. Hopefully we'll get it into some semblance of order between the two of us. ::sighs:: One more thing to add to the list of things I need to do over the summer.

I think I'm going to end this entry before it gets even more insanely long.

Well, the job hunt continues. I'm using what my father calls the shotgun method, which is basically going to as many different places as I can and picking up applications with the hopes that at least one of those places will hire me for something and that I'll be able to make enough money so that I won't be quite as in debt to my parents and that I'll be able to pay for school next year as well as getting some fun things along the way. Not many because I need to budget my money better, but some fun things at least.

I've been entering things into my blog in military time for some reason, probably because it's easier to deal with than the whole AM/PM deal. Also because I'm starting to really like military time for some strange reason. ::shrugs::

Now I should go clean my room. I really don't want my room to be a trashed mess like it was last summer, and if I don't do something about it now it'll get that way and then where will I be? Stuck with a messy room, of course. It doesn't help that I share the space with my little sister and her insane number of stuffed animals, but hey, it's a place to sleep, and I don't have to pay for it. Those are definite perks.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to work on my personal webpage as well as the group webpage I run, but I don't know how much time I'll have to devote to things, what with filling out applications so I can work and all. Still, I should be able to find some time to do things, don't you think?

Well, I think I should really try to blog more often than I do. Let's see...to anybody who reads my blog and cares, I'm back home, safe and sound. I got in on Friday night late (around 0100 or so). Still suffering from jet lag and an extreme lack of sleep overall. Finals are a killer, let me tell you.

Now that I'm home I get to go through the wonderful process of finding a job or two for the summer so I can earn enough money to get back out to school and to pay my parents back for the help that they gave me this past semester in making housing payments and tuition payments and such. Luckily for me (I guess) I have more time than most college students do during the summer in which to work. I guess there are benefits to not having a winter/spring break.

As far as anime news is concerned, I finally got the Fruits Basket Character Book! ::bounces around happily:: Now I just need to get the rest of the manga, and to do that I need money. Bleh. It always seems to come back to money, and a lack of it.

I don't know how much time I'll be online, but I should have at least a little time every night. Now that my oldest younger brother got a computer of his own I don't have to worry about him monopolizing either of the family computers. We'll just have to see how the summer schedule works out.

Now I'm going to try to be a responsible person (scary, ne?) and go to bed at a fairly decent hour. Partially because I hate the idea of having jet lag affect me this strongly, and partially because I won't be able to sleep much past nine tomorrow morning. Either way, sleep is a very good thing, and I want to get more of it now that I don't have to worry about classes and homework and all that jazz.

Well, I decided that it was time for a layout change. I love Kyou dearly, but I wanted something new. The main colors didn't change much, but...

Anyway, meet Graham, who I feel is one of the coolest characters in Shamanic Princess. It's really too bad that he only shows up in the last two episodes, and that those episodes are a prologue to the first four (it's weird, I know).

I designed this layout while I sould have been studying for finals or packing to go home, but that seems to be the way a lot of these things work. There's too much crammed into the end of the semester and I'm really getting tired of it. Thankfully I'll be home at the end of the week, although I won't have my computer for who knows how long. Thank heaven for CD burners. ^_^

Let's see...what's been happening in the last month? I've been getting loads and loads of digital fansubs of several dozen different series (direct connect is a wonderful, yet evil, thing) and I got hooked onto Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda by a friend of mine. Yes, I know Gene Roddenberry is dead, but that doesn't mean that Andromeda can't exist.

I've also started reading the Sword Dancer saga by Jennifer Roberson. My roommate got me hooked on that series, and it's very good. Well, I think it is anyway. I now own all but the last one because it hasn't come out in paperback yet.

I should probably start burning CDs and packing and studying now, so I'll blog more later.

Layout: This layout features Graham from Shamanic Princess. He's my favorite character from the six episode series, and I decided that I wanted to do a layout devoted to him. I snagged the images from all over the web, but most of them came from The Luna Regina.
